Setting up Sub-Analysis Mappings

Please read Managing Sub-Analysis Mappings before setting up sub-analysis mappings. Note that in FinancialForce Accounting, all companies within an organizationClosedA deployment of the Salesforce/FinancialForce applications with a defined set of licensed users. Your organization (org) includes all of your data and applications, and is separate from all other orgs. share the same sub-analysis mappings.

To set up sub-analysis mappings:

  1. Click the Sub-Analysis Mapping tab, then click New to define a new set of mappings.
  2. In the Mapping Name field, enter a unique name that identifies the sub-analysis field across your organization. For example, you might have set up custom fields to analyze profit by project code, department or warehouse. In this case you would need to create one set of mappings for Project Code, another for Department, and another for Warehouse so you might use Project Code, Department and Warehouse as your mapping names.
  3. Select the Derive Transaction Line Item From Header checkbox if you do not want blank sub-analysis line values on the source document to be left blank when mapped across to transaction line items. When selected, the mapped field on the transaction line item will be populated by the corresponding mapped field on the transaction header if the value on the source document line is blank. When this checkbox is deselected, transaction line items do not derive their values from the transaction header, so any blank values on the source document line will remain blank on the transaction line item.
  4. For each relevant document type, choose which field contains your sub-analysis field at header level, and at line level if required. You can only map fields of the same data type. Notice that payable invoices and payable credit notes have two line types (product lines and expense lines); if you wish you can map a different field on each line to the transaction line item.
  5. For Transaction Header and Transaction Line Item, choose which field your sub-analysis field should be mapped to.
  6. For Currency Revaluation Summary, choose which field your sub-analysis field should be mapped to on CRV summaries (if any). A message will be displayed if you try to save a sub-analysis mapping that cannot be used by the CRV process.
  7. Click Save to save the set of mappings you have defined.

If you want to delete a set of mappings, click the icon then click Save.

You cannot create sub-analysis mappings for the same field more than once.

Once you have entered a Mapping Name you can save the mapping with blank values and complete it later. You might need to do this if you still need to set up your custom fields.

Note:

If an integration rule and a sub-analysis mapping are targeting the same field, the integration rule overrides the mapping.
