Setting up Tax
Depending on how you set up your org, tax is calculated as follows:
- Automatically using Avalara AvaTax or FinancialForce, when billing documents are created from contracts, if you enable the Billing Central Automation Feature Console feature. For more information, see Setting up the Automation of Billing Central Processes.
- Using FinancialForce when users click Calculate Tax on the billing document, where they can add up to three tax codes. For more information, see Setting up Tax Calculation Using FinancialForce.
- Using Avalara AvaTax when users click Calculate Tax or Calculate Tax with Avalara on the billing document, where tax is calculated using the summary tax code. The summary code is defined in the Billing Central Task Launcher in Lightning Experience or on the FFBC Tax Calculation Settings tab in Salesforce Classic. - Manually, where your users can add up to three tax codes for each billing document line item.
