Adding Lookups (To Source Objects)

This topic describes how to add lookup relationship custom fields to objects in your organization. Your administrator must add these lookups before anyone uses the Revenue Management application. See the Salesforce Help for more information.

All Revenue Management users must have read access to all your source objects.

If you have installed a Revenue Management Expansion Pack you may be able to skip this step.

To add a lookup relationship custom field to the primary source object on the Revenue Recognition Transaction Line object:

  1. Make sure you are signed in as an administrator.
  2. From Setup click Create | Objects then select the Revenue Recognition Transaction Line object. Using Lightning ExperienceClosedNavigate to Setup | Objects and Fields | Object Manager.
  3. Click New in the Custom Fields & Relationships section. Using Lightning ExperienceClosedThe section name is Fields & Relationships.
  4. Choose a field type of Lookup Relationship.
  5. Click Next after this and other steps as necessary.
  6. Select the object that you plan to use as your primary source object.
  7. Tab out of the Field Label field.
  8. Specify the access settings of the field for each profile.
  9. Choose the appropriate page layouts to show the field as an editable field.
  10. Click Save.

If you plan to use more source objects, repeat these steps for each one.
