Enabling the Engagement Feature

The Engagement feature enables you to configure FinancialForce applications for the engagement functionality and customize the Engagement object for the applications that you use.

You can only perform the steps for the applications that are installed in your org. For example, if you use Billing Central, click Launch next to step 2. Otherwise, click Skip.

After clicking Launch, additional actions display. Perform them in the order shown in the dialog.

1 Professional Services Automation Add the Projects related list to the Engagement page layout.  
2 Billing Central Add the Billing Contracts related list to the Engagement page layout.  
Create a consolidation rule to consolidate billing documents by engagement.

The Billing Document Consolidation feature must be enabled.

3 Supply Chain Management Add the Sales Orders related list to the Engagement page layout.  
4 Revenue Management Add the Revenue Contract related list to the Engagement page layout.  
Add the Revenue Schedule Lines related list to the Engagement page layout.  

When you have completed all the steps, use the Status slider in the Feature section to enable the feature.

Next Steps

After enabling the Engagement feature, continue with the setup tasks:

  1. If Business Analytics is installed in your org and you plan on using Engagement Analytics dashboards, create an Analytics app from the Engagement Analytics app template. For more information, see Setting up Engagement Analytics Apps in the Business Analytics Help.
  2. If Revenue Management is installed in your org and you plan on using engagements in the revenue recognition process, you must perform additional steps. For more information, see Setting up Revenue Recognition for Engagements in the Revenue Management Help.
  3. Customize the Lightning record page for the Engagement object. For more information, see Customizing the Engagement Lightning Record Page.
