Configuring PSA Analytics
Before you can use PSA Analytics, you must ensure that:
- You have the necessary licenses for Analytics and it is enabled in your user orgs. Contact FinancialForce Onboarding for assistance.
- You have the necessary Business Analytics license assigned from Setup | Apps | Installed Packages | Manage Licenses.
- Your System Administrator has enabled Analytics from Setup in Feature Settings | Analytics | Analytics | Getting Started.
- Your System Administrator has selected the Enable Analytics Templates setting from Setup in the settings for Analytics.
- You have data in the following PSA objects: Project, Resources (Contacts), Utilization Calculation, Utilization Results, Timecards, Milestones, Est vs Actuals, Backlog Calculation, and Regions, Practices and Groups.
- The data environment is prepared in PSA. For more information, see Preparing the Data Environment for PSA Analytics.
Your system administrator is responsible for managing your Analytics settings.
Permission Sets and User Requirements
Adding Data to Your App with the Integration User
Salesforce automatically generates the integration user when Analytics is enabled in your org. This user needs the relevant access permissions to link your Salesforce data with Analytics.
The Integration User requires:
- A FinancialForcePSA license.
- Your administrator must assign to this user the PSA Analytics Integration User Read Access permission set, which grants read access to your PSA objects, fields, and records.
- Your administrator must create and assign to this user a permission set granting read access to the Skill/ Certification Rating, and Contact objects in your PSA data environment. This is required to created the Resource Skills, Utilization, and Utilization Results datasets.

Creating Your Analytics App with the Admin User
All users who intend to create apps using the configuration wizard require:
- A FinancialForcePSA license.
- A Business Analytics license.
- An Analytics Platform Admin permission set assigned.
- The PSA Analytics App Template permission set assigned.
If you want to add user-generated fields from your data environment to a dataset, you must ensure that the Integration User has read access to these fields by assigning them an appropriate permission set before running the configuration wizard.
Viewing All PSA Analytics Dashboards with the View User
Users who only require view access to the information related to PSA Analytics need a Business Analytics license and the Analytics Platform User permission set assigned. With this permission, they can view the information in apps shared with them by the System Administrator.
Viewing Embedded Dashboards Only with the Embedded Dashboards User
Users who only require view access to the embeddable dashboards contained in the app need a Business Analytics license, and the Analytics View Only User permission set and the Analytics View Only Embedded App permission set License Assignment assigned. With these permissions, they can view the information in apps shared with them by the System Administrator.

To create this dataset, you must create a read access permission set for the following objects in your PSA data environment. Assign this permission set to the Integration User before running your PSA Analytics dataflow.
