Integration Rules - Type 1

This topic relates to the first generation of Integration Rules. Contact your FinancialForce representative for information about the suitability and availability of the next generation of integration rules (ClickLink).
  • Do you want to make your own custom fields available for reading or writing on your sales invoices, sales credit notes, payable invoices, payable credit notes, and journals?
  • Do you want to make any additional fields available for printing on your sales invoices and sales credit notes?
  • Would you like your own custom fields on these objects to be exposed to the FinancialForce API and desktop appsClosed Compatible applications installed on your local computer. for printing (sales documents only), reporting or document input?

If you have created custom fields for the sales invoice, sales credit note, payable invoice, payable credit note, or journal objects and want to see them on the corresponding FinancialForce pages, or when printing them from the application (sales documents only), you must create integration rules with only these target objects defined. The same read and write permissions granted for the FinancialForce application extend to the FinancialForce API.

Note:

FinancialForce Print Formatter and FinancialForce both use the FinancialForce API to manipulate data. However Cash Entries does not currently support this type of integration rule.

They may also be used for standard fields that do not appear on printed invoices and credit notes.

Note:
  • You cannot create more than one rule of this type for each target object or target detail object.
  • If you define a target object or a target detail object, you must also create at least one line for the corresponding section.
  • The "For Reading" permission makes the field available as additional information in the header or line item section of the document, respectively.
  • To grant the "For Writing" permission, the field must also have the "For Reading" permission selected.
  • Do not grant "For Reading" or "For Writing" permissions to standard fields on sales documents.
  • "For Reading" and "For Writing" permissions also extend to the API, making the field available to other applications such as Print Formatter.
  • The "For Printing" permission causes the field name and data to be printed as additional information in the corresponding header or line item section of the sales document when it is printed from the application. The "For Printing" Permission is not available for payable invoice, payable credit note, and journal objects.
  • An integration rule of this type is needed to make a custom field available even if the same field is mapped in a separate type 2 integration rule.

See "Creating Custom Fields" in the Salesforce Help for more information.

Where are my custom fields?

Expander panels on the sales invoice and sales credit note pages display any custom fields that you have configured. See Custom Fields on Sales Invoices and Credit Notes.

See Custom Fields on Journals for information about where to find custom fields on journals.

See Custom Fields on Payable Documents for information about where to find custom fields on payable invoices and payable credit notes.

Note:

If an integration rule and a sub-analysis mapping are targeting the same field, the integration rule overrides the mapping.
