Setting Up the Avalara VAT Reporting Integration

Note: As of Spring 2022 the Avalara SaaS Settings custom setting is called Avalara VAT Reporting SaaS Settings (FF).

To set up the Avalara VAT Reporting integration, you must perform the following steps.

  1. Configure the Avalara VAT Reporting SaaS Settings (FF) custom setting fields. See the section below for more information.
  2. Enable Localization in Accounting. For more information, see Using Localization.
  3. [Optional] Customize the default FinancialForce Accounting to Avalara VAT Reporting mappings. For example, if you want to use data from a custom field, rather than a standard Accounting field. For more information, see About the Avalara VAT Reporting Mappings.
  4. Enable the integration using Feature Console. For more information, see Enabling the Avalara VAT Reporting Integration
  5. [Optional] If your company has multiple VAT numbers, you must create a new Company for each VAT number. In FinancialForce Accounting you cannot add multiple VAT numbers to one Company.

Configuring the Avalara VAT Reporting SaaS Settings (FF) Custom Setting Fields

To configure the custom setting fields:

  1. From Setup, click Custom Code | Custom Settings.
  2. Next to Avalara VAT Reporting SaaS Settings (FF), click Manage.
  3. Click New.
  4. Change the value of the Account ID field to your Avalara Account ID.
  5. Change the value of the API Key to your Avalara API Key.
  6. Change the value of the Environment field to the Avalara SaaS environment that you want to connect to.
  7. Click Save.
