Managing Tax Codes

The tax code list page displays a list of tax codes in your current view. From this page, you can view detailed information and access other related information.

  • Click a tax code to view its detail.
  • Click Edit to edit the tax code details.
  • Choose a predefined view from the drop-down list to select the records to display. Alternatively, you can select Create New View to define your own list view.
  • Click Printable View to display the current list view in a format that is ready for printing.
  • Click New Tax Code to create a tax code.
  • Click any column heading to sort the records using that column’s data.

Note:

If you encounter issues with decreased performance, it might be related to the way FinancialForce Accounting stores tax rates. See Cache Objects Management for more information.

Displaying Tax Codes

Once you have located a tax code on the home or list pages, click the tax code to display detailed information.

Editing Tax Codes

To update a tax code, click Edit, and then change the fields you want to update. When you have finished, click Save. You can also click Save & New to save the current record and then create another.

Setting Tax Rates – To set a new tax rate for this tax code, click New on to the Tax Rates related list.

Deleting Tax Codes

Note:

You cannot delete a tax code that has been assigned to a document.

To delete a tax code, and its related tax rates:

  1. Once you have located the tax code that you want to delete on the home or list pages, click its name to display its detail page.
  2. Click Delete. A warning message is displayed.
  3. Click OK to confirm the deletion. The deleted record is moved to the recycle bin.
