Using Datastream

To import records from a spreadsheet using Foundations Datastream:

  1. Create the source data in a spreadsheet. For more information and examples, see Creating a Source Data Spreadsheet to Use with Datastream.
  2. Copy the data for the relevant tables from the source spreadsheet. To do this you can use a keyboard shortcut or a right-click mouse action.
  3. In your Salesforce org, navigate to the Foundations Datastream tab.
  4. Click inside the paste area.
  5. Use a keyboard shortcut to paste the spreadsheet data.
  6. To view more information about the pasted data, click View All. Click Close to return to the previous page.
  7. Review details of any information, warnings, or errors that were identified in the pasted data.
  8. If your data contains errors, complete the following steps:
    1. Resolve the issues in the spreadsheet.
    2. Copy the data you want to import.
    3. On the Foundations Datastream tab, click Clear to reset the page.
    4. Use a keyboard shortcut to paste the corrected spreadsheet data.
    5. Review any information, warning, or error messages before you proceed.
    6. Repeat Step 8, if required.
  9. To import the pasted data, click Save. Remain on the page while the data is saved.
