Resource Management Desktop App
The Resource Management desktop app contains the following tabs:
- Resource Management Workspace
- Resource Requests
- Resource Planner
- Assignments
- Contacts
- Opportunities
- Utilization Results
- Projects
- Chatter
Resource Management Workspace
The Resource Management workspace is the default landing page for the Resource Management app and acts as a starting point for the activities that you conduct in your resource manager role. Data for all resources are displayed in the org.
For more information, see Resource Management Workspace.
Resource Requests
The Resource Requests tab opens the Resource Requests list view. Use a resource request to ask for a resource before the start of a project.
Resource Planner
The Resource Planner tab opens the Resource Planner list view. Find, view, and manage your resources and active projects with the Resource Planner and Project Planner. You can view assignments, held resource requests, and schedules, organized by resource or project.
Assignments
The Assignments tab opens the Assignments list view. Resources are allocated to projects using assignments. An assignment is a connection between resources and projects. When you assign a resource to a project, you can create a schedule for that resource.
Contacts
The Contacts tab opens the Contacts list view. In FinancialForce Professional Services Automation a resource is a type of contact. When you have resources in PSA, you can carry out many tasks depending on the permissions that your administrator has assigned.
Opportunities
The Opportunities tab opens the Opportunities list view, where you can select the opportunities you want to view. For more information, see the Salesforce Help.
Utilization Results
Utilization is a measure of how effectively an organization uses its billable resources over time. It's generally a key indicator to determine billings, profitability, employee compensation, and capacity required to deliver pipeline opportunities.
Projects
The Projects tab opens the Projects list view. For more information, see Projects.
Chatter
Chatter is a private social network within your Salesforce/FinancialForce environment. If you are new to Chatter or would like to find out more about its features, read the Salesforce Chatter Overview first.
FinancialForce PSA is Chatter enabled. This means you can access Chatter's feeds and file-sharing features from within the application.
