Creating a New Mapping
The mandatory mappings are configured by default. You can view default mappings, add custom field mappings, and override default field mappings.
To create custom field mappings using the Lightning Page, perform the following:
- Open the PSA Direct for Jira Mappings Lightning page.
- In the relevant field mapping components, you can:
- View the source and target objects.
- View the source and target fields for each mapping.
- Add custom mappings.
- Override the default (managed) mappings.
- Save custom mappings.
For more information, see Adding Custom Mappings from the FDN Mappings Component.
The following example contains the necessary steps for creating a new custom field to display the End Date value of a PSA project as a Due Date for the related Jira issue.
We assume that you have created a custom date picker field in Jira and that you have the ID of the field. In this example, the ID is customfield_10110.
- In Setup, click Custom Code | Custom Metadata Types.
- Next to PSA to Jira Issue Field, click Manage Records. A list of existing mappings displays.
- Click New. The new mapping record page displays. For a description of all the available fields and the accepted values, see Mapping PSA Direct for Jira Fields .
- Next to Label, enter PSAJiraProjectIssue EndDate. Once you move to the next field, the PSA to Jira Issue Field Name automatically populates.
- Next to Jira Field ID. For example, enter customfield_10110.
- Next to Jira Field Name, enter Demo Text Field.
- Next to Owning Type, enter fields.
- Next to Jira Datatype, enter string.
- Select the Is Available for Mapping checkbox to make the field available for mapping.
- Select the Override Field Mapping checkbox to allow users to override the mapping for this field. By default, it is selected.
- Click Save. The new mapping is now created.
