Adding Company Dimension in the Planning Setup

In order to use the new company dimension in the Summer 2022 release of FinancialForce Planning, you must perform the following:

Renaming Department Dimension from Planning Setup

To do this, perform the following steps:

  1. From the Planning Setup tab, click Dimensions | Department.
  2. Deselect the For Admins checkbox. Click Save.
  3. In the Name field, delete Department and enter Company.
  4. In the Page Header field, delete Departments and enter Companies. The page header must be a plural of the dimension name.BIelow the Name field, select the For Admins checkbox.
  5. Below the Name field, select the For Admins checkbox.
  6. Click Save.
  1. From the Planning Setup tab, click Dimensions | Budget App.
  2. Deselect the For Admins checkbox. Click Save.
  3. Scroll down to the Dimensions drop-down list. Click to expand the Dimensions drop-down list.
  4. In the Dimension 4 field dropdown, select "Company".
  5. Scroll to the top of the page, and under the Name field select the For Admins checkbox.
  6. Click Save.

  2. Deselect the For Admins checkbox. Click Save.
  3. Scroll down to the Dimensions drop-down list. Click to expand the Dimensions drop down list.
  4. In the Dimension 2 field dropdown, select "Company".
  5. Scroll to the top of the page, and under the Name field select the For Admins checkbox.
  6. Click Save.
  1. From the Planning Setup tab, click Dimensions | BP Reporting Balance.
  2. Deselect the For Admins checkbox. Click Save.
  3. Scroll down to the Dimensions drop-down list. Click to expand the Dimensions drop down list.
  4. In the Dimension 5 field dropdown, select "Company".
  5. Scroll to the top of the page, and under the Name field select the For Admins checkbox.
  6. Click Save.

Verifying Company Dimension in Budgets

To do this, perform the following steps:

  1. Do one of the following:
    1. On the Links page, click Budgets | Budgets.
    2. On the Planning Workspace tab, in the Navigation Pane, click Budgets.
  2. From the budgets list or detail page, view the budget summary based on the budget lines and budget filters.
