Mapping SCM Line Types to Salesforce Products
To export SCM documents such as invoices and credit notes to FinancialForce Accounting, or to export SCM invoices as billing documents to Foundations, all their lines must be associated with a Salesforce product.
Mapping Item Line Types to Salesforce Products
You can link item line types to Salesforce Products either directly using the Product field on the item master associated with the item line type or using SCM product groups. Product groups enable you to associate an item master with a Salesforce product. If you decide to use product groups, you will need to create the product group first and then associate it with the item master.
Creating a Product Group
Create a product group as follows:
From the Codes tab:
- Go to the Codes tab.
- Click the Product tab.
- Click New.
- Enter a name for the product group.
- Enter a meaningful description for the product group.
- Select the Salesforce product for the product group.
- Click Save.
Associating a Product Group with an Item Master
To associate a product group with an item master:
- Go to the Items tab.
- Select the item number you want.
- Select the product group you want to associate the item master with.
- Click Save.
Mapping Other SCM Line Types
When transferring lines that are not associated with an item master you must create an SCM Line Type to Product Mapping record for the lines in SCM that you require to map to
- Deposit
- Discount (use this option if the line belongs to an invoice with an applied discount)
- Freight
- Labor
- Miscellaneous
- Tax
To create an SCM line type to product mapping:
- Go to the SCM Line Type to Product Mappings tab.
- Click New.
- Select the line type you want to map.
- Select the Salesforce product you want the SCM line type to map to.
- Click Save.
