Creating Accounting Currencies
To create a new accounting currency The currency in which your company does business. A company can have more than one accounting currency. in your current company The company in which you are working. This is represented by the company queue to which you, and new instances of objects you create, are assigned.:
- If you have multiple companies, make sure your current company is the correct one.
- Click the Accounting Currencies tab.
- Click New next to Recent Accounting Currencies on the home page.
- In the Currency field, select a Salesforce active currency The currencies in which your Salesforce CRM organization does business. Sometimes called "organization" or "org" currencies.. If you don't see this field, ask your administrator One or more individuals in your organization who can configure and customize the application. Users assigned the System Administrator profile have administrator privileges. to add it to your page layout.
- In the ISO Code field, type the same three-character ISO code The International Organization for Standardization code. Used to represent both countries and currencies. that you selected in the Currency field.
- Specify the number of decimal places to which values in this currency are expressed.
- Enter the AR Write-Off Limit which will be used when completing the Accounts Receivables Write-Off process.
- If this currency is the current company's home currency, set the Home checkbox.
- If this currency is the current company's dual currency, set the Dual checkbox.
- When you have finished, click Save. You can also click Save & New to save the changes to the current record and then immediately begin to create another.
If relevant org-wide exchange rates already exist when you create a new accounting currency in a company that uses org-wide exchange rates, these rates can be automatically applied. A warning is displayed.
