What are Analysis Dimensions?
Analysis dimensions are an optional element of some accounting codes. They also form part of a Certinia chart of accounts A collection of general ledger accounts, entities, and analysis dimensions, organized into a reporting structure.. They enable you to analyze the activity in your business in additional ways, such as by cost center, project, employee, or any other aspect of business important to you.
So, for example, you might want to analyze your Certinia data by geographical area or region such as United States, Canada, or Europe.
Accounts, products, tax codes, and bank accounts are predefined entities supplied with the base application. You can define up to four custom dimensions for analysis.
Each time you create a sales invoice, you can sub-analyze both the invoice total and the individual lines using any of your custom dimensions.
The four Dimension tabs each display a home page that let you quickly create and locate your dimension definitions. You can also sort and filter your dimensions using standard and custom list views. In addition, this tab lets you view and edit detailed information on each dimension.
Each Dimension object is an organization-level object Custom object that exists across all companies in an organization (org)..
