Tab Settings

Tip:

The Accounting managed package includes five predefined custom user profiles: Accountant, Cash Entry Clerk, Sales Invoicing Clerk, Payables Clerk and Read Only.

If you use these custom user profiles, or if you mapped these custom permissions to your own profiles during installation, these settings are already defined.

You can use the Tab Settings section on a user profile to control access to the functionality to which each type of user is entitled. This is particularly useful in the case of processes, such as Cash Matching and Aged Analysis Reports, that do not have a direct relationship to a single custom object. In these cases, disabling access to the tab is the recommended method of controlling access.

To control access to custom tabs:

  1. From Setup, click Manage Users | Profiles.
  2. Click Edit next to the name of the relevant profile.
  3. Grant access to the appropriate Certinia applications.
  4. Scroll to the Tab Settings section.
  5. Grant appropriate permissions.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Repeat for all other relevant profiles.
