Linking Assignments to Project Methodologies

You can link one or more project methodologies to an assignment. You can also unlink project methodologies from an assignment.

Linking Project Methodologies

To use the PSA Link Assignment To Project Methodologies Lightning component, you must add it to your Assignment Lightning record page. For information, see "Lightning App Builder" in the Salesforce Help.

Note:

The columns displayed for the list of linked records in the PSA Link Assignment To Project Methodologies Lightning component and the lookups where you select records to link are not configurable. Record names are displayed in alphabetically ascending order.

To link one or more project methodologies to an assignment:

  1. Display the assignment record page you want to link project methodologies to.
  2. Navigate to the Project Methodologies Linked to Assignment section. If you are using our default page layout, this section is on the Linked Records tab.
  3. Click Link Project Methodologies on the Project Methodologies Linked to Assignment section. A list of available project methodologies not yet linked to the assignment are displayed in the Link Project Methodologies window.
  4. In the Link Project Methodologies window, select the checkboxes of the project methodologies that you want to link to the assignment.
  5. Click Save. A confirmation message confirms that the linking was successful.

Unlinking Project Methodologies

To unlink one or more project methodologies from an assignment:

  1. Display the assignment record page you want to unlink project methodologies from.
  2. Navigate to the Project Methodologies Linked to Assignment section. If you are using our default page layout, this section is on the Linked Records tab.
  3. On the Project Methodologies Linked To Assignment section, Select the project methodologies you want to unlink.
  4. Click Unlink Project Methodologies. A confirmation message confirms that the unlinking was successful.

Linking Project methodologies on the Link Assignment to Methodologies Page

To link project methodologies to an assignment on the Link Assignment to Methodologies page:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Click Link to Methodologies on the Assignment Detail page of the assignment to which you want to link to project methodologies.
    • Click New Assignment Methodology in the Assignment Project Methodologies related list of the assignment to which you want to link to project methodologies.
  2. Select the checkboxes of the project methodologies that you want to associate with the assignment.
  3. If you want to remove an association with a project methodology, clear the checkbox of that project methodology.
  4. Click Done.
  5. If there are unsaved changes, a confirmation popup appears. To save your changes and return to the Assignment Detail page, click Save and Continue. To discard your changes and return to the Assignment Detail page, click Continue without Saving.
