Calculating Backlog

  1. Open a record from a region, practice or group.
  2. Click Calculate Backlog. The Calculate Backlog window opens.
  3. As a minimum, enter the name and start date for the calculation.

    For details of other fields, see Backlog Calculation Fields.

    Any changes that you make are remembered between sessions, when you use the same browser.

  4. Click Calculate. The Calculate Backlog window closes and the calculation is processed.

You can open this calculation from the Backlog Calculations related list on the region, practice or group that it was calculated for, or from the list view on the Backlog Calculations tab.

The Backlog Calculation record shows the details of the calculation and a related list that contains the backlog details.

If your org is configured to display alternate currencies, a Backlog Details Converted related list contains the backlog details in these currencies. For more information, see Setting Alternate Backlog Currencies.

Note:
We recommend that you run backlog calculations from a Region, Practice, or Group record page. If you create a new backlog calculation using the App Launcher | Backlog Calculations | New, ensure that the Region, Practice, or Group field has a value.

Recalculating From an Existing Backlog Calculation

To recalculate a backlog from an existing backlog calculation:

  1. Open the existing calculation from the region, practice or group Backlog Calculations related list, or from the Backlog Calculations tab.
  2. Click Calculate Backlog.
  3. Change the details, as needed.
  4. Click Calculate.
