Manually Linking an Existing PSA Project Task and a Jira Issue

If you use the Integration Hub Connector: Jira - PSA, you can manually link existing PSA project tasks and Jira issues.

Note:

Depending on how the connector is set up in your org, you might use PSA project tasks as the source of truth or Jira issues as the source of truth. Step 4 only applies if PSA is the source of truth.

Warning:

You can only link a single PSA project task to a single Jira issue. You must not enter the same Jira Correlation ID for multiple PSA project tasks.

To manually link a PSA project task to a Jira issue:

  1. Navigate to the Project Tasks tab.
  2. Open the project task that you want to link to a Jira issue.
  3. In the Jira Correlation ID field, enter the key of the Jira issue. For example, PSA-1234.
  4. If PSA is the source of truth, do the following:
    1. In the Jira Issue Type Category field, select "Standard Issue Type" or "Sub-task Issue Type", depending on the type of Jira issue. For example, if the issue is a story in Jira, select "Standard Issue Type".
    2. In the Jira Issue Type, select the type of issue or sub-task, for example, "Story". The list displays only the issue types of the selected category. If your issue type is not listed, contact your administrator.
    3. [Optional] If the relevant workflow is enabled, the connector can automatically sync future changes made to the project task with Sync. To enable this, select Sync with Jira.
  5. Save your changes. The PSA project is now linked to the Jira issue.
Note:

If Jira is the source of truth, the Jira Issue Type Category and Jira Issue Type fields are automatically populated the next time that a Jira user changes the linked issue.
