Resource and Project Planners Custom Preferences

The Custom Preferences panel in Resource and Project Planners enables you to change settings as described in Preferences.

Note:

Changes to custom preferences apply immediately when selected and do not require a refresh of Resource and Project Planners, except for Decimal Precision. The Decimal Precision custom preference setting applies to the initial load of Resource and Project Planners. Your selected behavior displays in subsequent loading of Resource and Project Planners.

To modify custom preferences:

  1. In the toolbar in Resource and Project Planners, click Setup.
  2. Select a tab as shown below and modify the settings described in Project or Resource Planner, or both planners.
  3. To return to the Project Planner or Resource Planner, click Go to Project Planner or Go to Resource Planner.

Show Holiday Icon

Controls whether the holiday icon is displayed for assignments.

In Week view, the palm tree icon indicates one or more holidays within the week for an assignment. Holidays are determined from the resource's work calendar.

The icon is also displayed for holidays on non-working days, such as Easter Sunday.

Filters Available Filters

Controls available filters sorted alphabetically that can be added to Selected Filters and displayed at a user-level in planners.

Selected Filters Controls the selected filters and the order to display at a user-level in the planners. Use the Left and Right arrows to select the filters you want to display in the Filters panel. You can multi-select filters. Select a filter in Selected Filters and click the Up and Down arrows to determine the order that the filters are displayed in the Filters panel. When multiple filters are selected, the Up and Down arrows are disabled. Yes Yes
Resources Resource Summary Threshold Color Ranges Controls the color coding for allocation thresholds that specify when a resource is considered correctly allocated, over-allocated, or under-allocated based on the Lower Summary Bar Threshold Limit and Upper Summary Bar Threshold Limit custom settings. The calculations for these color ranges are based on the resource's work calendar. No Yes
Use Utilization Target Controls resource allocation. If selected, each resource's allocation is calculated by multiplying their work calendar by their Utilization Target. The color coding is updated accordingly, relative to the allocation thresholds.
Note: The Use Utilization Target checkbox is not visible if you do not have access to the Utilization Target field on the resource's Contact record.
