Project Locations, Methodologies, and Phases Overview

Clicking the Project Locations, Project Methodologies or Project Phases tab displays the home page for that object.

Project Locations

In PSA, you can associate a projectClosed A collection of activities and related items to be managed over a defined time range, such as timecards, expenses, milestones and budgets. with several locations and specify the dates to which the locations apply. Depending on the configuration that your administrator has set, you can then select a location for each day in the details section of a timecardClosed A mechanism for logging time against a project or an assignment.. You can also set a location for the whole week depending on the options that your administrator has set.

When you create a project from a template, you can copy the locations associated with your template project to the new project.

A project location is active on a timecard when both of these conditions are true:

  • the project location has no Start Date or its Start Date is prior to, or is within the Timecard Start and End Dates.
  • the project location has no End Date or its End Date is after, or within the Timecard Start and End Dates.

Depending on configuration, the locations listed are generated from the project location records associated with the project or the default drop-down list associated with the Project Location field on the timecard object.

Depending on the configuration your administrator has set, you can copy the location from a previous week's timecard.

Project Methodologies

In PSA, you can associate a project with several project methodology records. If you have the permissions to do so, you can specify the dates to which the project methodology records apply. If your administrator has configured PSA to do so, you can select a methodology for each line on a timecard. Depending on configuration, the methodologies listed are generated from the project methodology records associated with the project or the default drop-down list associated with the Project Methodology field on the timecard object.

Project Phases

In PSA, you can associate a project with several project phase records. If you have the permissions to do so, you can specify the dates to which the project phase records apply. If your administrator has configured PSA to do so, you can select a project phase on each timecard line. Depending on configuration, the phases listed are generated from the project phase records associated with the project or the default drop-down list associated with the Project Phase field on the project.
