Removing the RMA Functionality from Your Org

You can adopt the enhanced customer return feature while you still have active RMAs in the system. When all of your pending RMAClosed Return Material Authorizations have been processed you may wish to edit page layouts to remove elements associated with the RMAClosed Return Material Authorization process.

RMA Elements

The following RMA elements can be removed your organization page layouts after you adopt the enhanced customer return feature:

You will not be able to see this related list on sales orders created when the RMA function was active. The "New Return Material Authorization" button appears on the Return Material Authorization related list. We advise that this button is not used after the enhanced customer return feature is activated.
Customer Return value Receipt Type on the Custom Field & Relationships section Receipt N/A You will not be able to see the Customer Return value on the Receipt tab list view drop down list.
N/A Return Material Authorization Receipt Receipt - Header Information You will not be able to see the Return Material Authorization field on receipts created when the RMA function was active.
Lookup Return Material Authorization Serial Number Serial Number - Return Information You will not be able to see the Return Material Authorization values derived from an RMA on the serial numbers page.

Editing Page Layouts

When all of your pending RMAClosed Return Material Authorizations have been processed you can edit your organization page layouts to remove the RMA elements:

Warning: You must ensure all RMAs in your org have been completed before you remove the associated elements from your page layouts. You will not be able to access information relating to active RMAs after you remove the associated elements from your page layouts.

Refer to the table above and remove the RMA elements from page layouts as follows.

  1. Select Setup | Create | Objects
  2. In the Custom Objects list select the object you wish to edit.
  3. In the Page Layouts section click Edit.
  4. Remove the RMA element from the page layout.
  5. Click Save.

Remove the "Customer Returns" value from the Receipt Type field on the Receipt object as follows:

  1. Select Setup | Create | Objects
  2. In the Custom Objects list select Receipt.
  3. In the Custom Fields & Relationships section select Receipt Type.
  4. In the Values section click Del adjacent to the Customer Return value.
