New Features and Enhancements in Services CPQ June 2023

The following new features have been introduced in the June 2023 release of Services CPQ.

If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to Services CPQ June 2023. This provides a summary of the items that have been added for each feature and details of any required upgrade steps.

Additional and Copied Fields

Your administrator can now specify additional fields that are displayed when editing or creating a new vendor line item, or when creating an estimate or an estimate template. They can also now specify the fields whose values are copied when adding to an estimate from a template or creating an estimate from a template. For more information, see Managing Custom Settings from Setup.

Enhancements to Discounting

You can now apply discounts to fixed price estimates and estimate products. When you discount a fixed price estimate product, arrow indicators are displayed next to the margin to indicate if it's higher or lower than the product's default fixed price margin. For more information, see the following topics:

Push to Opportunity and Create Project Preview Windows

We have moved the preview window in the push to opportunity, create a project from an estimate, and adding an estimate to a project flows. You can now access the preview window by clicking the new Preview button in the Select Estimate Products window. This enables a faster estimation process as we have reduced the number clicks required to complete each flow.

The preview windows now display a Financial Summary section, that enables you to preview a summary of the financial information that will be added to the opportunity when pushing to opportunity, or the project when creating a project from an estimate or adding an estimate to a project.

We have also introduced a Budgets section to the Project Preview and Additional Records Preview windows, which enables you to view the budgets and vendor line items that will be added to the project when creating a project from an estimate or adding an estimate to a project.

For more information, see Pushing an Estimate to an Opportunity, Creating a Project from an Estimate and Adding an Estimate to a Project.

PS Cloud Analytics

We have improved the reliability of the data displayed in the PSA Services CPQ Estimator Dashboard and the PSA Services CPQ Estimate Manager Dashboard by identifying estimates with a single project incorporating all of the estimate's records. PS Cloud Analytics only uses data from estimates with a single project incorporating all of the estimate's records.

To enable identification of estimates with a single project incorporating all of the estimate's records, your administrator must enable the Services CPQ June 2023 feature in Feature Console. For more information, seeAdding Estimated Expenses to an Estimate and Enabling and Disabling Features

Enhancements to Estimated Expenses

When estimated expenses are added to an estimate, the net amount, amount, and cost of the estimate now exclude estimated expenses. This doesn’t apply to the following:

  • Estimates that have already been pushed to opportunity or used to create a project
  • Estimates that have already been partially pushed to opportunity or partially used to create a project
  • Estimates that are associated with opportunities that have a close date in the past

Your administrator can recalculate these values on existing estimates by enabling the Services CPQ Summer 2023 feature in Feature Console. For more information, see Adding Estimated Expenses to an Estimate and Enabling and Disabling Features
