Making Changes with Translation Reporter

To make a change in your local org:

  1. Set your Salesforce user language to the language you want to change. You cannot search for values to change using English.
  2. Navigate to the page where you want to make the change.
  3. Click Translation Reporter.
  4. A list of matching translated values is displayed, along with the Certinia products the value appears in.
  5. [Optional] For each translated value, use the Show Details action on the row to see where in the product the value appears to verify that you are changing the correct one.
  6. Type in the value that you want to change.
  7. Click Search. The search ignores punctuation and character accents.
  8. Type your changed text in the Suggestion column for the appropriate rows.
  9. Click Save when you have finished.

An acknowledgment is displayed to show the suggested change has been recorded by Certinia, and at that point your org is updated with the change.

Changing the range of your search

The range of the search depends on your current page and the status of the Base search on the current page checkbox.

The Current Page is a Certinia Custom Page

By default, the Base search on current page checkbox is available and selected, and the search will return only items from the app you are working in. You can deselect the checkbox and search for the value across all the installed Certinia products that have language packs. You may need to do this if you are using the billing document in Foundations, which uses labels from Billing Central.

Current page is not a Certinia Custom Page

By default, the Base current search on current page checkbox is disabled and deselected. This occurs if, for instance, you are on the Home page or a standard object page such as Account. The tool will search all installed Certinia products that have language packs.

Warning:

Do not remove any { or } characters, or any characters enclosed by them. This notation is used in messages to represent text to be inserted later when the error is generated. For example {0} or {1}.

Note:

It is possible to change translations some translated values without notifying Certinia by overriding them in the Salesforce Translation Workbench. However you cannot override Certinia custom labels in this way. Be aware that if you change a translated value using Salesforce Translation Workbench Translation Reporter will be unable to find your change later.

Error Handling

If you attempt to make amendments to your org but the process fails, error messages are written to a log for the automated process user. Please contact Certinia, who will need access to the org to review the messages.
