Managing Related Lists on Custom Input Forms

You can enable related lists on custom input forms where the form type is View or Input & View. In addition to the standard Salesforce related lists, you can create custom related lists tailored to your business needs. You can also edit the columns displayed in a related list, and delete a related list from a custom input form if required.

Enabling Related Lists

To enable a related list on a custom input form:

  1. Load the custom input form into the Input Form Manager.
  2. Click the Add or Edit Related List button. The Related Lists popup is displayed listing the related lists currently available for the form.
  3. Select the checkbox for the related list you want to enable.
  4. Click OK. Any related lists enabled on the form are displayed in a row below the Add or Edit Related List button. You can change their order by dragging and dropping them along this row.
  5. Save your changes in the Input Form Manager.

Creating Custom Related Lists

To create a custom related list:

  1. Load the custom input form into the Input Form Manager.
  2. Click the Add or Edit Related List button. The Related Lists popup is displayed.
  3. Click the Create New Related List button. The Related List Configuration popup is displayed.
  4. In the Related List Name field, enter a name for the new related list.
  5. In the Related List field, select the object that is the source for the new related list. (An object cannot be used in a related list and as a tab in the Line section on the custom input form at the same time. If you want any of the object's fields to be available on a tab in the Line section, you must delete the related list first.)
  6. Choose which columns to include in the related list by moving the relevant fields from the Available Fields list to the Displayed Fields list.
  7. Choose which field you want to use to sort the related list, and whether you want to sort in ascending or descending order.
  8. Click OK on the Related List Configuration popup, and on the Related Lists popup.
  9. Save your changes in the Input Form Manager.

Editing and Deleting Related Lists

  • To edit a related list, click its icon on the Related Lists popup. The Related List Configuration popup is displayed and you can make the changes you want. Some of the default related lists are not configurable.
  • To delete a related list, click its icon on the Related Lists popup. You cannot delete the default related lists.
