Setting up Extended Edition for Journals

The default user interface for creating, editing and viewing journals is called Classic EditionClosed The view of the application that you see when you first install the base managed package.. If you prefer, you can enable an alternative user interface that makes use of faster data entry grids for entering document lines. This alternative user interface is known as Extended EditionClosed The view of the application that you see when you install one of the extension packages (such as the Cash Entry Extension package). For invoices, credit notes, and journals Extended Edition is integrated into the main package, but must be configured..

Note:

In versions of Accounting before V14, Extended Edition for journals was only available by installing an extension package but it is now integrated into the main Accounting application.

To enable Extended Edition for journals, you must remove button overrides and assign page layouts as detailed below. You must be signed in as the System Administrator to make these changes.
