Configuring Financial Management Analytics

Before you can use Financial Management Analytics, you must ensure that:

  • You have the necessary licenses for Analytics and it is enabled in your user orgs. Contact Certinia Onboarding for assistance.
  • You have the necessary licenses to use Business Analytics. See Licensing for more information.
  • Your administrator has enabled Analytics from Setup in Feature Settings | Analytics | Analytics | Getting Started.
  • Your administrator has selected the Enable Analytics Templates setting in the settings for Analytics.
  • Your administrator has selected the Enable Data Sync and Connections checkbox from Setup in Feature Settings | Analytics | Analytics | Settings.
  • You have data in the following Accounting objects: Transaction, Transaction Line Item, Reporting Balances, Cash Matching History.
  • You have data in the following Planning objects: Tag in the Dimensions Budget App and Budget App Amounts.
  • [Optional, to create the Billing Contracts dataset] You must have data in the following Billing Central objects: Account, Contract, Contract Line Item, Opportunity, Opportunity Product, and Product.
  • [Optional, to create the Recognition Transactions dataset] You must have data in the following Revenue Management objects: Account, Revenue Recognition Transaction, and Revenue Recognition Transaction Line.
  • [Optional, to create the Revenue Waterfall dataset] You must have data in the following Revenue Management objects: Account, Contract, Contract Line Item, Revenue Schedule, and Revenue Schedule Line.

Your administrator is responsible for managing your Analytics settings.

Data access to objects and fields derived from Accounting and used in the Financial Management Analytics dataflow.

Accounting - Multi Book - Read Access

Data access to objects and fields used by the Multi-Book Accounting feature in Accounting.

[Optional] FFP - Business Analytics Read Access Data access to objects and fields used by the Tag object in Planning and used in the Financial Balances dataset.
[Optional] Billing Central Analytics Read Access Data access to objects and fields derived from Billing Central and used in the Financial Management Analytics dataflow.
[Optional, required for use with Billing Central] FDN Core Analytics Data access to Foundations companies. This is required to display data from Foundations companies integrated with Accounting
[Optional] RevMan Analytics Data access to objects and fields derived from Revenue Management and used in the Financial Management Analytics dataflow.
[Optional] FAM - Business Analytics - Read

Data access to objects and fields derived from Fixed Asset Management and used in the Financial Management Analytics dataflow.

[Optional] OIM - Use Business Analytics Required to provide read-only access to the Order and Inventory Management objects and fields included in the Order and Inventory Management dataset.
Admin User Financial Analytics App Template - App Creation Enables the user to create and customize Financial Analytics apps using the app template.
Financial Statements Reporting Enables the user to create and customize Financial Statements built using Analytics.
Financial Analytics App Template - Cash Flow Analytics

Create and customize Cash Flow Analytics built using Analytics and Lightning Web Components.

This permission is also required by view users to use the Exclude Journals from Cash Flow Analytics bulk action.

Note: The user will also require Edit permission for the Transaction Line Item object in Accounting.
CRM Analytics Platform Admin

Enables all permissions required to administer the Analytics platform, including permissions to enable creating Analytics templated apps and Apps.

Note:

This is a standard Salesforce permission set that automatically provides access to the Analytics Platform permission set license.

View User CRM Analytics Platform User

Enables all permissions required to use the Analytics platform and Analytics templated apps and Apps.

This is a standard Salesforce permission set that automatically provides access to the Analytics Platform permission set license.
