Creating a Jira Project from a PSA Project

If you use the Integration Hub Connector: Jira - PSA and the Sync Projects from PSA to Projects in Jira workflow is enabled in your org, you can create Jira projects from PSA projects.

To create a Jira project from a PSA project:

  1. Navigate to the Projects tab.
  2. Open the project that you want to create a Jira project from.
  3. In the Jira Project Key field, enter a unique key for the project in Jira. This is used to prefix Jira issues created for the project. For example, if you want issues for the project to have keys such as PSA-1234, enter PSA.
  4. In the Jira Project Type field, select one of the available values, depending on the type of project that you want to create.
  5. Ensure that the Project Name field has a unique value.
  6. Ensure that the resource selected in the Project Manager field is linked to a Jira user. You can confirm this by checking whether the Jira Correlation ID field is populated on the resource.
  7. Select Sync with Jira.
  8. Save your changes.

The connector automatically creates a Jira project for the PSA project. Once the synchronization finishes, the Jira Correlation ID field is populated with the ID of the project in Jira. For more information, see Synchronizing PSA Projects to Jira Projects.

  9. [Optional] Click View Project in Jira from the Jira Project URL field to open the related project in Jira.

If an error occurs during the synchronization, the connector sends you an email notification and creates a Foundations error message. For more information, see Viewing Integration Hub Connector: Jira - PSA Error Messages.
