Associating Project Tasks with Milestones

You can associate a project task with an existing project milestone. Task-Based Resourcing uses this information to generate resource requests.

Note:

While it is possible to associate a milestone with a parent task, we recommend associating milestones with child tasks instead of, or in addition to, the parent task as child tasks reflect actual work done.

To associate the selected project task with a milestone:

1. Select the project that you want to edit.
2. [Optional] Create some project tasks.
3. Do one of the following:
   • In the Task pane, click the Milestone field and select a milestone from the drop-down list.
   • In the Schedule pane, double-click the task duration bar for the project task and, on the General tab, select a milestone and click Apply.

Note:

You can only edit the milestone's target date on the detail record. To do this, click View Detail to view the milestone detail in a new browser window.

4. Click Save.
