Setting up the Project Management Workspace

Installing the Workspace

PSA Workspaces is not currently part of the PSA core product. Contact the Onboarding Team to have the PSA Workspaces package installed into your org.

Complete the following setup for your users to access the Project Management workspace:

  1. The PSA - Workspaces - Project Management permission set provides access to the Project Management workspace. Assign the PSA - Workspaces - Project Management permission set to the users that require access to the workspace.
  2. The workspace links to various parts of the product and is populated by the relevant records. To view the workspace correctly with populated data, you must ensure that your users have the necessary permissions sets to access the following objects:
    • Assignments
    • Backlog Details
    • Budget
    • Est Vs Actuals
    • Expenses
    • Expense Reports
    • Issues
    • Milestones
    • Missing Timecards
    • Projects
    • Resource Requests
    • Risks
    • Projects Actuals Converted
    • Timecards
    • Time Period
    • Time Variance
    • Transactions
  3. Manually add the Project Management Workspace tab to any apps. By adding this tab to the relevant apps you gain maximum benefit from the Project Management workspace, supporting your workflows, and reducing the time needed to access the information required in your role.
The PSA - Workspaces - Project Management permission set provides access to the Project Management workspace.
  4. Add the Project Management Workspace tab permission on the profiles that require access to the workspace.
  5. Apply for the tab permissions on the Actual Verifier and PSA Administration after the package installation is completed.
  6. Set up sharing by groups or roles for the users that you want to access the My Total Project Margin % report. Applying the appropriate sharing settings for groups and roles determines how the report is displayed for different users.
