Viewing Event Logs

When a background process such as creating billing documents for several contracts completes, recipients are notified depending on the options set in Billing Central's Background Process Settings custom setting.

Viewing Background Process Logs

The Background Process page contains logs associated with a process. You can view this page from an email, Chatter notification, or from a Salesforce notification. The Process Summary section contains information about the process that you received the notification for. The Logs section contains log entries that occurred for a particular record.

To view logs from email, Chatter, or Salesforce notifications:

  1. Click the link in the email or Chatter notification. For a Salesforce notification, click the notification itself.
  2. To view a document or record to which a log relates, click the Record ID of that log.
  3. To view a log associated with the process, click the Log Number of that Log.
  4. [Optional] Click View All Logs to open the Logs tab.

To view process logs on the logs tab:

  1. Click the Logs tab.
  2. Click the Log Number of the log you want to view.

Viewing Jobs on the Jobs Tab

If your organization uses parallel Apex queueable jobs, you can view the status of the jobs associated with a process:

  1. If you have not already done so, create a Jobs tab for the Jobs object. To do this, click Setup | User Interface | Tabs. For information about creating tabs, see the Salesforce Help.
  2. Click the Jobs tab you created earlier.
  3. Click the name of the job you want to view.
