Customizing the Billing Document object for use in Billing Central

The Billing Document custom object is owned by Foundations so you must make the following modifications manually:

  1. From Setup, go to Object Manager.
  2. Click the Billing Document custom object.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Select the Allow Search checkbox.
  5. Click Save.
  6. In the List View Button Layout section, locate the List View layout then click and select Edit.
  7. Move Convert to Credit Notes, Complete, and Discard from the Available Buttons list to the Selected Buttons list.
  8. Click Save.

Set the Primary Compact Layout

Assuming that you are using the Lightning record pages supplied with Billing Central, you must set the primary compact layout on the Billing Document and Billing Document Line Item custom objects.

When editing the Billing Document custom object:

  1. In the Compact Layouts section, click Compact Layout Assignment.
  2. Click Edit Assignment, then select Billing Document Compact Layout as the primary compact layout.
  3. Click Save.

When editing the Billing Document Line Item custom object, set the Billing Document Line Item Compact Layout as the primary compact layout.

Assign Billing Central's Lightning Page Layouts to Users

Make sure that Billing Central's Lightning page layouts for the Billing Document and Billing Document Line Item custom objects are assigned to the user profiles in your org. The names of the page layouts to use are listed in the table below.

If you are upgrading and you had customized the page layouts previously used for these objects, you will need to reapply your customizations to the Lightning page layouts.
