Permission Workbench
The Permission Workbench tab is available from the Foundations User Management app. It enables you to view, compare and merge permissions in different permission types, such as permission sets, permission set groups, profiles, and users.
You can analyze permission differences and quickly identify issues, such as duplicate permission controls. You can use the Permission Workbench to complete the following actions:
- Compare the differences between field and object permissions in selected permission sets, permission set groups, profiles, or users
- View and merge all field and object permissions in selected permission sets, permission set groups, profiles, or users
- Save permission differences or merged permissions to:
- A new or existing permission set or muting permission set
- A CSV file
For example, you can compare permissions for a profile and a selection of similar permission sets. If you have duplicate strategies for managing permissions in the same functional area, you can merge the permissions to create a single permission set.
You can compare and merge both field and object permissions. For more information about permission levels, see the Salesforce Help.
The following Salesforce standard objects are not displayed in the Permission Workbench. When saving differences or merging permissions for permission types that contain these objects, we recommend that you add the relevant permissions to the saved output manually.
