Recalculating Utilization

You can recalculate utilization previously calculated on a regionClosed A level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects., practiceClosed A level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects., groupClosed A level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects., or resourceClosed A contact that works on a project.. Tip:

You can include or exclude data from a utilization recalculation. For example, excluding roles from utilization calculations if they are not relevant for capacity planning. For information, see Utilization Calculations Overview.

To recalculate utilization on a record:

  1. Open the utilization calculation record either from the relevant related list or the Utilization Calculations list view.
  2. Click Calculate Utilization. All field values default based on the previous time calculation was processed.
  3. Review and make any changes to the fields as described in Utilization Calculator Fields.
  4. Review and correct any errors.
  5. To recalculate utilization now, click Calculate. A bar displays the progress of the processing utilization recalculation.
  6. Click Close in the window to continue the utilization recalculation.
  7. [Optional] Check the progress of the utilization recalculation as described in Monitoring Utilization Calculation.
