Total Project Margin (Workspace) Dashboard
The Total Project Margin (Workspace) dashboard is intended to be integrated with the Project Manager workspace in PSA. It is not referenced by the PSA Overview dashboard. This dashboard displays data from the Project Margin dataset.
This dashboard is created as part of the PS Cloud Advanced Analytics app.
As a project manager, this dashboard enables you to:
- Use the power of Analytics to visualize the total project margin for all your projects.
- Use predictive analytics to visualize the expected project margin for all your projects. You can use the drop-down menu to switch the confidence interval between 80 percent and 95 percent. By default, this prediction has a confidence interval of 80 percent. You can also toggle seasonality for the prediction. This feature takes into account seasonal fluctuations in the data and calculates the resulting margin accordingly.
For more information about predictive analytics that use timeseries functionality and methods, see the Salesforce Help.
For more details of the fields used by the dashboard, see Project Margin Dataset PS Cloud Analytics Output Fields.
Dashboard Charts
The Dashboard contains the following chart.

Total Project Margin | Timeseries line chart |
Displays the total project margin for all the projects you have assigned as a project manager. You can view your historical data from a year before the cutoff date as well as a prediction into the future. The total project margin is calculated as the difference between the total billings value of all your assigned projects minus the total costs of the projects. For prediction purposes, the algorithm takes into account the data from all time and uses timeseries seasonality trends to display an accurate prediction for the next four months. By default, this chart uses the Salesforce Analytics Timeseries function with an 80 percent confidence interval. However, you can use the confidence interval drop-down selector to switch between 80 percent and 95 percent confidence. You can also enable or disable seasonality for the prediction model. If you enable seasonality, the prediction algorithm takes into account yearly seasonal fluctuations on a monthly basis (Y-M) to generate a more accurate prediction if your projects are tied to seasonal variations.
