Creating Item Types

To break down the non recurring amounts on a service contract, ensure that these picklist values exist in the Item Type picklist of the Item Master The record of a product or a service which is to be sold and/or stocked in a warehouse. An item master might also be referred to as a Stock Keeping Unit (SKU). object:

• Material
• Time

If these items do not exist add them and then ensure that the new values are available to the record types in the Item Master object:

1. Click the name of the record type in the Item Master object that you want to edit.
2. Click Edit next to the Item Type picklist.
3. Select the picklist items that you created in the Available Values list.
4. Click Add to move the picklist items to the Selected Values list.
5. Click Save.

Note:

If you are using Order and Inventory Management version 5.0 or later, you do not need to carry out this step.
