Importing and Exporting Configuration

The PSA Administration tab is displayed when you click PSA Config. If you have the permissions to do so, you can use this tab to export your existing configuration settings and import the configuration settings included in the PSA packages. You must carry out these tasks when installing PSA for the first time or upgrading from a previous version. If setting up PSA, you must also import the custom settings included in the package. For detailed information about installing PSA, see Getting Started with FinancialForce PSA Version 13X SP4.

Warning
In Version 13X SP4 you cannot import configuration exported from a version of PSA prior to Summer '12. If you are upgrading from a version of PSA prior to Summer '12 and want to backup your configuration settings, you must export your existing configuration after installing Version 13X SP4 but before importing the Version 13X SP4 configuration. If you do not do this, you may lose configuration options that you set in a previous version.

Exporting Configuration Settings

To export configuration settings:

  1. Display the PSA Config tab.

    The PSA Administration page appears.

  2. Click Export Configuration.
  3. Do one of the following:

    Depending on the option you selected, the file is saved to the Documents tab or an email is sent with the existing configuration attached as an XML file.

Importing Configuration Settings

To import the configuration settings:

  1. Display the PSA Config tab.

    The PSA Administration page appears.

  2. Click Import Configuration.
  3. Ensure that PSAConfig is displayed in the drop-down list.
  4. If you want to replace all of your configuration settings with the default configuration supplied, select the Replace All Values from File checkbox.
    Note
    If you import the configuration with the Replace All Values from File checkbox selected, the current configuration is backed up to the Configs folder on the Documentation tab.
  5. Click Import Configuration.

Importing Custom Settings

After installing PSA, you must also import the custom settings included in the package.

Note
In Version 13X SP4 this only loads required data into one custom setting and does not load or replace any other custom settings.

To import the custom settings:

  1. Click Import Custom Settings Data on the PSA Config tab.
  2. Ensure that PSACustomSettings is displayed in the drop-down list.
  3. Select the Replace All Values from File checkbox.
  4. Click Import Custom Settings.
