About Staffing Permission Controls

Staffing permission controls allow you to set permissions to staff resources on the specified regionA level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects., practiceA level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects. or groupA level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects..

When setting staffing permission controls, the user must have permission for both the associated project and resource, as follows:

For Projects Region, practice, group, or project
For Resources Region, practice, group, or resource

To apply the Staffing permission control to Resource and Project Planners, set the Edit Requires Staffing Permission custom field to true in the Resource and Project Planners Settings and Preferences custom setting.

Note: Note
The Staffing permission control is ignored in the classic Resource and Project Planners.

The Salesforce Staffing page and the Staffing API require the Staffing permission control to create new assignments or resource requests. The Staffing permission control does not restrict editing of assignments or resource requests in the Salesforce Staffing page or the Staffing API.

The new Resource Planner and Project Planner does not currently support creating assignments or resource requests. If the Edit Requires Staffing Permission field is set in the Project Planners Settings or Resource Planners Settings custom settings, the Staffing permission controls the ability to edit assignments or resource requests in the respective planner.
