Work Queue Manager Settings

The WorkQueues custom setting allows you to activate or deactivate the Work Queue Manager and customize its operation.

# – Both settings must be selected to use the Work Queue Manager.

Use With Actuals   Includes or excludes batch Apex classes used in the corresponding business processes:
  • processing actuals
  • calculating backlog
  • calculating missing timecards
  • calculating scheduled utilization
  • generating, processing and releasing billing events
  • preparing billing events for invoicing
  • removing and clearing billing data
  • recalculate the amounts in a billing event
  • Updating the current time period information for regions, practices and groups using the RPGPR Maint class, which you can schedule on the PSA Administration page on the PSA Administration tab.

Work Queue Manager Poll Frequency   Specifies the time interval, in minutes, before Work Queue Manager checks for any new scheduled Apex jobs across the organizationA deployment of the Salesforce/FinancialForce applications with a defined set of licensed users. Your organization includes all of your data and applications, and is separate from all other organizations.. The default time interval is five minutes. The Work Queue Manager Max Threads setting determines the maximum number of available new jobs that will be scheduled at the polling time interval.
Tip: Tip
Change this setting to suit the needs of your organization. For example, if you calculate backlog on a nightly job, set the poll frequency to 60 minutes for instance.

Last Queue Manager Execution   Indicates the last time the Work Queue Manager was in use. Null
Work Queue Manager Max Threads   Specifies the number of simultaneous batch Apex jobs that Work Queue Manager can submit to the Salesforce schedules.The default and recommended value is 3, but this depends on your organization. 3
