Creating a Named Credential for Avalara VAT Reporting
Before FinancialForce Accounting can send transaction data to Avalara VAT Reporting, you must specify the AWS storage server that you use to store your Avalara VAT Reporting documents. You can do this by creating a named credential in your org.
You must have the following information provided by AWS:
- AWS bucket
- AWS access key ID
- AWS secret access key
- AWS region
To create the named credential:
- In Setup, click Security | Named Credentials.
- Click New Named Credential. The New Named Credential page displays.
- Next to Label, enter Avalara VAT Reporting. The Name field auto-populates with Avalara_VAT_Reporting. If it doesn't, enter Avalara_VAT_Reporting manually.
- Next to URL, enter the URL of the AWS bucket. For example, https://s3.amazonaws.com/bucket-name/
- Next to Identity Type, select “Named Principal”.
- Next to Authentication Protocol, select “AWS Signature Version 4”.
- Next to AWS Access Key ID, enter the access key ID. For example, AKIA27IE6ILH4MSGGRDOW.
- Next to AWS Secret Access Key, enter the secret access key. For example, f6DCd1nvs33wgUpurKlSJ4XB7opLYMWhCfHMFIpl.
- Next to AWS region, enter the region of the server. For example, us-west-2.
- Next to AWS service, enter s3. This represents the AWS storage service and is also reflected in the bucket URL.
- Leave the default values for the remaining settings.
- Click Save. The named credential is now configured.
You can test the connection in the Avalara VAT Reporting Integration feature. To do this, perform the feature step to check the connection to the Avalara VAT Reporting storage server. For more information, see Enabling the Avalara VAT Reporting Integration.
