Setting Up the Avalara VAT Reporting Integration

To set up the Avalara VAT Reporting integration, you must perform the following steps.

Note: Depending on your company's structure, you might need to involve your IT department, Salesforce administrator, and other departments in the setup process.
  1. Create and configure the Amazon Web Services (AWS) storage server to store your Avalara VAT Reporting XML documents. For more information, see the AWS help.
  2. Mount the AWS server folder that will contain the XML documents on a local PC with Avalara VAT Reporting installed. For more information, see the AWS help.
  3. Create a named credential to store the connection details to the AWS server in Salesforce. For more information, see Creating a Named Credential for Avalara VAT Reporting.
  4. Enable the Spanish or French localization in Accounting. For more information, see Using Localization.
  5. [Optional] Customize the default FinancialForce Accounting to Avalara VAT Reporting mappings. For example, if you want to use data from a custom field, rather than a standard Accounting field. For more information, see About the Avalara VAT Reporting Mappings.
