Message Type Fields
Here is a description of the fields that make up message types.
Key: * – Mandatory field. The number indicates the number of characters that are allowed in this text field.

Message Retention | 10 | Number of months for which to retain messages belonging to this message type. To specify a number of months, enter a value between 0 Leave this field blank if you want the value to be inherited from the parent message type or the root message type. |

Parent | The parent message type to which this message type belongs. If the message type is to inherit from the root message type, leave this field blank. |
