Creating a Jira Issue from a PSA Project Task

If you use the Integration Hub Connector: Jira - PSA and the Sync Project Tasks from PSA to Issues in Jira workflow is enabled in your org, you can create Jira issues from PSA project tasks.

To create a Jira issue from a PSA project task:

  1. Navigate to the Project Tasks tab.
  2. Open the project task that you want to create a Jira issue from.
  3. In the Jira Issue Type Category field, select "Standard Issue Type" or "Sub-task Issue Type", depending on the type of issue you want to create. For example, if you want to create a story in Jira, select "Standard Issue Type".
  4. In the Jira Issue Type field, select the type of issue or sub-task that you want to create, for example, "Story". The list displays only the issue types of the selected category. If your issue type is not listed, contact your administrator.
  5. Ensure that the related project is linked to a Jira project or issue. You can confirm this by checking whether the Jira Correlation ID field is populated on the project.
  6. If the project task is a child task, ensure that its parent task is linked to a Jira issue. You can confirm this by checking whether the Jira Correlation ID field is populated on the parent task.
  7. Select Sync with Jira.
  8. Save your changes.

The connector automatically creates a Jira issue for the project task. Once the synchronization finishes, the Jira Correlation ID field is populated with the key of the issue in Jira. For more information, see Synchronizing PSA Project Tasks to Jira Issues in the Integrations Help.

If an error occurs during the synchronization, the connector sends you an email notification and creates a Foundations error message. For more information, see Viewing Integration Hub Connector: Jira - PSA Error Messages in the Integrations Help.
