New Features and Enhancements in Services CPQ

The following new features have been introduced in the November 2021 release of FinancialForce Services CPQ.

Estimates

Estimates are no longer created using project, project task, or resource request records. We have added the Estimate, Estimate Role Request, and Estimate Task objects. When creating an estimate, estimate records are now created instead of a project record with the record type Estimate.

The SCPQ Estimate Related List component has been deprecated and replaced by the Estimates related list. For more information, see Setting up Services CPQ.

Role Requests Hours Breakdown

We have added an Hours Breakdown tab to the Add Role Requests window. This enables you to specify the hours for each role request for the selected task per week. For more information, see Configuring an Estimate.

Creating an Estimate

You can now create an estimate directly from the Services CPQ workspace using the new Services CPQ Workspace Action Panel component. For more information, see Creating an Estimate.

Cost Contingency

You can now add cost contingency to an estimate, which enables you to set a budget for any unexpected costs that might occur. This amount is added to the net amount and cost for the estimate. For more information, see Configuring an Estimate.

Discounts

You can now apply a discount to an estimate task. The Discount (%) and Discount (Amount) fields display the total discount applied to estimate tasks. To support this new functionality, we have added the Net Bill Amount field to the Task Manager, which displays the discounted bill amount for each estimate task.

We have added the Global Discount (%) field, which enables you to apply a further discount to the amount of the estimate. The new Global Discount (Amount) field displays the amount that has been discounted from the amount of the estimate.

You can choose whether discounts are applied to expenses or the contingency cost using the Apply Discount to Cost Contingency and Apply Discount to Expense fields. For more information about discounts, see Configuring an Estimate.

Services to Salesforce CPQ Integration

When pushing an estimate to a quote, you can now create a new quote to push the estimate to directly from the Push to Quote window. For more information, see Pushing an Estimate to a Quote.

FinancialForce In-App Guidance

FinancialForce In-App Guidance uses Salesforce user engagement features to deliver FinancialForce content, such as tutorials, learning paths, and walkthroughs directly from our products.

As Salesforce delivers further user engagement features, FinancialForce will leverage their capabilities in order to make the adoption and use of our products a far simpler experience for our customers.

This functionality enables you or your administrator to activate in-app guidance to object record pages and object home pages. The following docked prompts have been added to the Services CPQ app in this release:
