Creating an Estimate
An estimate enables you to estimate custom services work during the sales process. You can then submit the estimate for approval before it becomes a live project. You can create an estimate from an opportunity or from the Services CPQ workspace.
To create an estimate from an opportunity:
- Navigate to the opportunity record you want to create an estimate for.
- On the Estimates related list, click New.
- Enter a name for the new estimate.
- Select a start date.
- [Optional] Select the Primary checkbox if this estimate is the primary version for this opportunity.
- [Optional] Select an estimate to use as a template by searching for an estimate using one or more characters anywhere in the estimate name.
- Click Create.
To create an estimate from the Services CPQ workspace:
- Click Create Estimate.
- Enter a name for the new estimate.
- Search for and select the opportunity that the new estimate is for.
- Select a start date.
- [Optional] Select the Primary checkbox if this estimate is the primary version for this opportunity.
- [Optional] Select an estimate to use as a template by searching for an estimate using one or more characters anywhere in the estimate name.
- Click Create.
