Using the Balance Sheet Dashboard

The Balance Sheet dashboard enables you to run your balance sheet reports in Financial Statements and view the resulting data within the dashboard. This dashboard uses the Financial Balances dataset and contains:

  • Prompts: filter by company, currency, year, and period.
  • Subtotals: view subtotals and totals.
  • Fixed sections: view fixed sections.
  • Collapsible rows and groups: expand and collapse the rows and groups in your reports.
  • Drill down functionality: drill down on certain values within the report table. As this report has drill down functionality (maximum 300,000 records), negative values are not shown in parenthesis. The destination for this drill is your transaction list.
Note: The dashboard is sorted in the same order as the relevant Trial Balance picklist values.

To filter the report data:

  1. Use the Year drop-down to select the year you want to see data for.
  2. Use the Period drop-down to select the period of the year you want to see data for.
  3. Use the Special Period 100 drop-down to select "Include (for selected year)" or "Exclude (for selected year)". This includes or excludes special period 100. All other special periods up to the year and period selected are always included. For a definition of the special periods, see Financial Balances Fields.
  4.  The following three drop-downs have dependencies on each other:
    1. Currency: select "Home" or "Dual". This selection affects the currencies available in the following Currency Code filter. For example, if you select Home only the ISO codes that are Home currencies are displayed in the following Currency Code filter.
    2. Currency Code: select the currency ISO code you want to see data for. This selection affects the companies available in the following Company filter. For example, if in the previous drop-down you select Home and here you select GBP, only companies with a GBP Home currency are available for selection in the following Company filter.
    3. Company: select the companies you want to see data for.
Note: If mixed currency is shown a warning appears. If you select different values in the Currency or Currency Code fields, any previously selected companies are not deselected, even if they are no longer valid for the new currency and currency code. To remedy this open the company filter picker, click Companies Selected and deselect any incorrectly selected companies. When the data is correct the warning disappears and the correct data is displayed.
  5. Use the drop-down menus to select the Section and Trial Balance entities you want to view in your report.
  6. Click to enter the Dashboard Configuration and filter your report data.
  7. Click to return to the Balance Sheet dashboard.
  8. [Optional] To drill down, select a row and click Drill Selected GLA.
Note:

When you select a total or subtotal row in the table, the row is not highlighted.
