- Click Edit next to any balance rule to edit the balance rule. For more information, see Editing Balance Rules.
- Click New to create a balance rule. For more information, see Creating a Balance Rule.
- Click any column heading to sort the records using that column’s data.

To update a balance rule, click | Edit and change the fields you want to update. When you have finished, click Save.
For a complete description of the standard fields that make up a balance, see Balance Rules Fields.

To delete a balance rule that you no longer need:
- Once you have located the balance rule you want to delete on the Links or list page, click its name to display its detail page.
- Click
| Delete. A warning message is displayed.
- Click Delete to confirm the deletion. The record gets deleted.

You can recalculate all or a selected list of balance rules. Once run, the job viewer shows the status of job execution. For more information, see Monitoring and Viewing Balance Rule Jobs.

To check and debug balances before using them in a report, you can use the standard Salesforce listview for balances. You can also add a filter that will display only the balances of the balance rule you need. To do this, use the Balance Rule Name field.
To check if the balance jobs are done correctly, navigate to the Planning Logs and select the balance type. For more information, see Viewing Planning Logs.

When you save the balance rule, a background process starts a batch Apex job. You can monitor the execution of the job.
- From Setup, click Environments | Jobs | Apex Jobs. A list of all the jobs in your org is displayed.
- Find the job with the apex class. The Status field displays the current status of the job.
After the batch job finishes, by default, you receive an email notification with the following:
- Number of processed batches
- List of any batch that cannot be processed
For more information on Apex Jobs, see the Salesforce Help.
