Creating an Estimate Template

Creating estimates from template estimates is useful if you have repeatable estimates, where any details are the same or similar. You can create an estimate template from the Services CPQ workspace or from an estimate record.

Note: Your administrator must assign you the SCPQ - Create Estimate permission set to create an estimate from a template.

To create an estimate template from the Services CPQ workspace:

  1. On the Services CPQ workspace, go to Actions | Create Estimate Template.
  2. Enter a name for the new estimate.
  3. Select a start date and a currency.
  4. [Optional] Enter a description.
  5. [Optional] Select an estimate to use as a template by searching for an estimate using one or more characters anywhere in the estimate name.

Select the Templates Only checkbox to display only estimate templates. The estimates that are listed are controlled by sharing settings. A maximum of 200 estimates are listed. Estimates without tasks or role requests are not listed.

  6. [Optional] Deselect the Include Skills / Certifications checkbox if you do not want role skill requests to be copied from the selected estimate. The checkbox is selected by default.
  7. Click Create.

To create an estimate template from an estimate record:

  1. On an estimate record, click Create Template from Estimate.
  2. Enter a name for the new estimate.
  3. Select a start date and a currency.
  4. [Optional] Enter a description.
  5. Click Create.
