New Features and Enhancements in Services CPQ February 2023
The following new features have been introduced in the February 2023 release of Services CPQ.
If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to Services CPQ February 2023. This provides a summary of the items that have been added for each feature and details of any required upgrade steps.
Estimated Expenses
We have created the Estimated Expenses object, enabling you to add multiple expenses to an estimate and associate them with an estimate product on the estimate. The total amount of all estimated expenses is pushed to opportunity using the new Total Estimated Expenses Amount field on the Opportunity Product object. Your administrator can disable expenses in Services CPQ. For more information, see the following topics:
- Adding Estimated Expenses to an Estimate
- Pushing an Estimate to an Opportunity
- Managing Custom Settings from Setup
Moving Estimate Dates
We have added the Move Estimate Dates action to the SCPQ Actions: Estimates component, which enables you to edit the dates of an estimate while retaining the duration. Any child records are also moved by the same number of days as the estimate's new dates. For more information, see Changing Estimate Dates.
Skill Enhancements
We have improved the Manage Role Skill Requests window, so that it's easier to search for, add, and remove skills, certifications, and skill sets from a role request. For more information, see Adding Skills and Certifications to Role Requests.
Estimate Products
We have renamed the Add Estimate Product Item action on an estimate product record to Add Estimate Template, to enable you to better identify the function of the action. Estimate templates are still added to estimate products as estimate product items. For more information, see Adding Product Items to Estimate Products.
The Product field is no longer required when creating an estimate product. It must be populated when adding an estimate product to a project, unless the creation of opportunity products is disabled in your org. For more information, see Managing Custom Settings from Setup and Creating an Estimate Product.
Milestones
We have added the Net Bill Amount field to the Estimate Line Set object. The value in this field will populate the Milestone Amount field on any milestones that are created from line sets. For more information, see Adding an Estimate to a Project and Creating a Project from an Estimate.
Process Lock
We've enhanced the functionality that prevents users from creating a project from an estimate that is currently being processed by another action. We have created the Services CPQ Process Lock object, which is for system use. Your administrator can troubleshoot any issues with process locking using the relevant process lock record. For more information, see Services CPQ Process Lock Fields.
Editing Pushed Records
You can now edit resource requests, estimate products, and any other records that have been pushed to opportunity. Your administrator can disable this functionality using the Disable Edit of Pushed Estimate Products field on the Services CPQ custom setting. For more information, see Pushing an Estimate to an Opportunity and Managing Custom Settings from Setup
Hours Breakdown
We have enhance the performance and implemented scale improvements for Hours Breakdown. One schedule exception record is created for all resource requests that have the same distribution of hours, enabling decreased processing time.
Permissions
For information about the changes to permissions in this release, see Permission Sets and Other Technical Documentation.
