Rebuilding Primary Balances

See About Balance Update for information on when and why you might need to rebuild primary balances.

To rebuild balance records on the selected primary balance type object:

  1. Make sure that you are in single-company mode and that the appropriate company is selected. This process cannot be run in multi-company mode. Your organization must have at least one intersect definition defined.
  2. Click the Balance Update tab.
  3. In the Rebuild Balances section, select one or all intersect definitions:

    If you want to run the balance update process for all intersects, accept the default All Intersects setting.

    If you want to process a single intersect definition, select Specific Intersect and select the intersect definition that you want to process.

  4. Check that the company displayed is the one that you want to rebuild balances for.
  5. Specify the financial year that you want to process.
  6. Specify the range of trading periodsClosed Accounting periods during which trading takes place, always corresponding to a range of dates. Opening, adjustment, and closing periods are not trading periods. within the selected year that you want to process.
  7. Click Rebuild Balances.

You are notified by email of the success or failure of this operation.

To monitor the progress of an asynchronous batch job, navigate to Setup, then click Monitoring | Apex Jobs. The queue lists any batch jobs that have not finished execution. The Total Batches column lists the total number of batches for the job. The Batches Processed column lists the number of batches that have been processed. See the Salesforce Help for more information.
